Our local educational system, public safety, jobs, and economic development are issues that are receiving increased attention in our City because of concerns that citizens like you and I have expressed constantly to our local and state governments. We continuously bring our concerns forth, however, solutions aren’t always returned to solve these major issues. We cannot continue to stand idly by and expect different results. It is time to organize today, for a better tomorrow.
I am Braxton C. Street a native Baltimorean and a product of Baltimore area public schools. I am running for the Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee representing District 40 because I am passionate about the plight of our students and families in this city. I taught elementary grades in our school system for seven years, now I am currently working as a School Improvement Specialist. There is no greater or more rewarding position than being able to help shape the lives of students in our city.
I am your neighbor. I share these same concerns with you. We have an opportunity to shape our local school system to more than adequately serve our scholars in Baltimore City. We can target the issues that have historically plagued this system such as lack of funding, constant staffing turnover, and other issues that hamper the educational possibilities of our scholars. We are also tired of not feeling safe in our own neighborhoods. We need creative solutions that will target the symptoms of violent crime, such as the lack of employment opportunities in our communities. Together we can develop solutions to solve these pressing problems that plague our community.
I ask for your ideas on how we can solve these pressing issues affecting our beloved Baltimore as I embark upon this listening campaign. I also ask for your support and vote in the Democratic Primary Election on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 (Early Voting is July 7th- 14th). Together, we will organize today for a better tomorrow.
