MEET braxton
Braxton C. Street is a dynamic and committed educational professional with a strong record of service to his community. With over a decade of experience as a highly qualified, certified, and tenured educator, Braxton has most recently served as a 5th-grade teacher at Furman L. Templeton Preparatory Academy #125.
A proud Baltimore native, Braxton is a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (Poly). He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Morehouse College, followed by a Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Urban Educational Leadership program at Morgan State University.
In his current role as a School Improvement Specialist for Baltimore City Public Schools, Braxton works every day to advance educational equity and excellence across the city. His civic engagement extends beyond education; he actively participates in numerous professional, fraternal, and community organizations throughout Baltimore and the surrounding region. Braxton has also spent time as a volunteer High School football coach, extending his reach from the classroom and school district offices to the field. He resides in the Ashburton neighborhood and serves as the First Vice President of the Ashburton Area Community Association.
In his free time, you can find Braxton singing karaoke, enjoying food at local restaurants, participating in a neighborhood clean-up, or visiting a local farmers market.
Braxton Street is running to be your next District 40 Delegate because he is committed to addressing and finding equitable solutions for the following shared beliefs:
Educational Equity and Youth Development. Braxton believes that every child deserves a first-class education and access to enriching, real-world learning experiences beyond the classroom. Braxton also believes we must meet young people where they are and ensure that wraparound supports, including mental health, mentoring, and expanded recreational programs are available to support overall youth development.
Environment, Housing and Transportation. Braxton envisions a healthier, greener, and more connected Baltimore. As an environmental advocate, he emphasizes sustainable development practices that promote a cleaner and greener city. Braxton also advocates for transit-oriented development, increased affordable housing, and modernized transportation infrastructure to support working families and fuel the city’s growth.
Braxton Street has long been on the front lines of these critical issues—and he is ready to bring his leadership to Annapolis as your Delegate.
Baltimore is Braxton’s home. He will continue to advocate for bold, responsible, and progressive solutions. As your voice in Annapolis, he will fight for the city’s future and help write the next chapter in Baltimore’s “Greatest Comeback” story!
